This Easter season, Shepherd of the Hills invites you and your family to experience the love and mercy of our amazing God as we celebrate the death and resurrection of our beautiful savior Jesus Christ.
MAUNDY THURSDAY with Communion
God has blessed us with many gifts. We can think of few gifts more precious to us than the very body and blood of Jesus. This Easter season, we invite you to join us as we celebrate the giving of the Lord’s Supper at Maundy Thursday worship services.
Let’s be honest, sometimes life feels empty. Whether it is tragedy, pain, suffering, or our own struggles with sin we all have some idea of what it means to be empty. Jesus also knows what it means to be empty. He knows what it means to suffer. He knows what it means to be forsaken. He knows what it means to give absolutely everything He has and is. This Good Friday we take a hard look at how we are many times left feeling empty and how Jesus emptied Himself for us.
Join us for our Cantata, Once Upon a Tree, as we hear about what happened during the first Holy Week from Luke's point of view.
On Easter Sunday morning, join us as we celebrate that our feelings of emptiness and sorrow for sin have no power over us as we rejoice in the empty tomb! Jesus rose from the grave, proclaiming victory over sin and death and gives that precious gift to all of us!
Following tradition the S.H.Y. youth will again be preparing and serving breakfast on Easter morning right after the SonRise service. There is a rumor that the huckleberry pancakes are making a return this year!! Bring your empty bellies and the youth will be happy to fill them up! This is a fundraiser with a free will offering.
